Thank you Jenn for reminding me of the sacrifice and BLESSING of being a home-school mom. I have a daughter and daughter-in-law who are doing a fantastic job teaching 5 of my 7 grandchildren. I can’t think of anyone better suited to raise them in the “nurture of the Lord” than “MOM”.

We’ve enjoyed this video of our time at the Sancturay, thank you for sharing. We’ve also enjoyed following the remainder of your trip. We hope your back ‘home’ in Indiana safely and enjoy your Grandma’s birthday celebration.
Mark has shared this story with many people and he always tells them how neat your kids were. He appreciated there conversation and behavior.

Thanks Jen… we’re glad to be back in the USA. We record lots of our adventures here, even those that don’t take us to far flung places, so there will still be stories to read. Our next adventure is in the planning stages already… stay tuned!

So glad you guys made it back safely. And I appreciate the honesty in the recounting. Yes, travel is usually safer than we’re led to believe it will be, but we do need to know how to address some of the less savory situations should they arise, particularly if the children are along. I’ll miss your travelogue and can’t wait to hear what you have planned next…

And a Happy Easter to you too We spent our Easter rather untraditionally also…We attended an Orthodox Good Friday service, had a night-time Easter egg hunt with flashlights, and..instead of a large family dinner …. we spent Easter afternoon with close friends intermingled in a beautifully diverse group of people at a gorgeous city park.
Easter, as you said, is in your heart ….. Enjoying this Edventure with you…Keep writing to us all “back” here…wherever “here” may be.

Our mistake then… we’ve encountered pothole fillers before, but never on paved roads with no potholes and no evidence of work gear in attendance, and usually not three within a 5 km distance with… we never mind supporting legitimate businessmen!

Extortion? These were campesinos who filled potholes with dirt so you could drive more comfortably. A few pesos lets them eat and motvated to fill more potholes.

While in Catemaco please visit “The Chicago El Cafe De Nadie” located accross from the square above the bank. Proceeds go to support The Hope Children’s Mission (La Esperanza Mision De Ninos) Belem and Yahel both speak english.
