Birthday Party Giveaway: Ebooks from Wandering Educators
March 17, 2013 in Birthday Party
I had this whole birthday party thing planned out. I was all set to go with the posts and the prizes, and then my friend Jessie emailed me, “Would you like to add our books to your giveaway?” She asked.
I felt like a heel for not thinking of her to begin with!
Jessie is the firepower behind the website and movement that is Wandering Educators. She’s on a mission to transform education and change a generation as she does it.
Both of my teens are participants in her fantastic Teen Travel Blogging Mentorship program. I know that sounds like something just for traveling kids, or just for kids who want to have blogs, but it’s so much more than that. Jessie pours her heart and soul into these kids and into developing them as communicators, not just in writing, but in so many other ways as well. She’s assembled a crack team of inspiring teachers for these young people, in everything from writing, to photography and videography to lifestyle design and dream building. The connections they’re making are phenomenal, and I can’t tell you how thankful I am that our kids have the opportunity to participate. I highly recommend that you shoot her an email and ask about the courses and find a way to get involved.
Jessie has produced two books, one: Bringing Home The World: A Resource Guide to Raising Intercultural Kids is an ebook chock-full of hands on strategies, whether you travel or live life in one place. The other is a guidebook called The Philippines:100 Tips that is a joint effort with a native who has all of the inside tracks. It’s so much better than one of those compilations written by folks who just travel through on the look out for top ten list items.
Generous to a fault, Jessie tracked me down, after the fact, to insist on giving away copies of both for our birthday party. She’s cool like that!
