Camino de Santiago: The rocks speak
June 26, 2014 in Europe, Spain
Astorga to Rabanal is a lovely walk.
Today was marked by the messages, inscribed on stones, and left along the path. Before long, I found myself hunting for them, like Easter eggs, and contemplating each message until the next one found me.
The pilgrims here will tell you that the path speaks, that the Camino teaches, and that she brings you gifts. The prevailing wisdom is to open heart and arms and take the gifts that she gives, learn from them, and keep walking. Today those gifts were tangible, and the lessons profound.
How beautiful on the mountains
are the feet of those who bring good news,
who proclaim peace,
who bring good tidings,
who proclaim salvation,
who say to Zion,
“Your God reigns!”
Is. 52:7
Love the rock that says “we are all ways creating”. Not sure if it’s a typo, but it made me stop and think.
Ditto, April. Thanks for sharing, Jennifer. You look good!
