Confession:

Sometimes the best adventure is no adventure at all.

Confession: We’re tired.

It’s been a whirlwind since Christmas: lots of friends and family visiting in Guatemala, quick trips to Honduras & Belize, then the Continental Shift rodeo and the packing, unpacking, repacking routine that comes with it. Then a 1500 mile road trip, illness that dogged us for well over a month, re-entry followed by a jet up to Canada for a week and a half. We’ve barely had time to catch our breath.

This weekend, it all came to a screeching halt and we could hear the crickets. Ahhh.

Father’s Day seemed the perfect excuse to stay “home” in our little camper, play board games, take walks to check on the blueberries growing in the forest, sit by the pool and read, or splash a little, BBQ, watch a movie with the kids and just chill.

We got so chilled that I forgot about one writing deadline (whoops!) but since it was self imposed I didn’t have to apologize.

The big excitement of the weekend: the paddle boat race. This was very important to Ezra who registered himself, Daddy & Gabe as our team. There were two heats and the boys were very proud to have won. Hannah and I had a good laugh.  Elisha sat on a big rock and cheered loud with his friend. Then we went back to doing nothing.

The next month and a half is going to be a whirlwind echo of the last few months: Guests, parties, road trips, international trips, and more.  We love it. It’s our life and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

But for once, this past weekend… we did nothing… and it was great.

Now, off to Boston to pick up the next edventure from the airport!
