Saturday Morning Adventures
July 12, 2013 in New Zealand, Oceania, Travelogue
What do we do when we have no place to go?
Three weeks into our housesit in Paraparaumu we’re beginning to discover a few of the local delights:
Like the Saturday morning Farmer’s Market.
It’s a pretty good local market, lots of fruits and veggies, a few tents of import items, some homemade preserves, and a lovely wooly fellow selling moonshine. Yep. You read that right. NZ is the only country in the world where it’s legal to distill your own liquor. He makes quite a colourful addition to the farmer’s market!
This week we were surprised with a special treat:
A bunch of local teenagers flashmobbed the market…
with Maori chants and dancing. They were fantastic:
Off to the farmer’s market in Noblesville. Thanks for reminding us.
We miss you all, and look forward to your return (to live) in Indiana for a few years!
All our love!
Praise Jesus!!!
Gotta love The Haka!
What a great find! I love the farmer’s market, anywhere we go, but I imagine it has a certain special quality when you are in a home away form home like a housesit.
Did a rugby match ensue in the middle of the market? 😉 Looked like the start of an All Blacks match!
Melissa… ahahah… no, but that would have been great!!
