Snorkeling Samalona Island, Indonesia: Photo Essay

Samalona Island is a quiet isle of the coast of Makassar, on the big island of Sulawesi.
It’s an easy day trip from the big island. Simply catch a boat from the beach across from Fort Rotterdam. You’ll feel a world away from the bustling port town. The island is surrounded by a little reef, and if you SCUBA dive and are there during the right time of year there are tank dives available from the island that explore the steep drop off into the deep blue.
