Baboon Sanctuary
March 25, 2010 in Belize, North America, Podcast, Travelogue
Visit the Community Baboon Sanctuary in Belize and learn how to survive in the jungle: eat termites, stitch cuts with leaf cutter ants, and more. Oh, and see the Howler Monkeys that we came to see. That’s right, no baboons – it’s the wrong part of the world. Baboon is the word the locals have used and it stuck.

Great video pieces and blogs guys. What an adventure! Did the monkeys have a smell about them in the wild? I know when I go to the zoo I can smell them but maybe the jungle covers up their scent.
I Spent half the night catching up on your adventures -as I had put them off for weeks, and by the end I was both worn out and invigorated. My girlfriend asked me at some point what I was doing and I simply replied, “I’m traveling South America with the Millers”
And all the food! Your descriptions and photos of it all has given me quite a voracious appetite! I’ll be looking to find the most authentic Mexican restaurant I can find today and hopefully get a glimpse of the treasures you all have been experiencing. I even got online to try and find some Scorpion Mescal here in Indy but with no luck.
I can’t wait for the next installment.
Take Care all
We’ve enjoyed this video of our time at the Sancturay, thank you for sharing. We’ve also enjoyed following the remainder of your trip. We hope your back ‘home’ in Indiana safely and enjoy your Grandma’s birthday celebration.
Mark has shared this story with many people and he always tells them how neat your kids were. He appreciated there conversation and behavior.
